our philosophy
This isn’t just another Reformer studio. Parkside blends classical Pilates with a soulful, personalised approach.
Here, Pilates is not just about the Reformer, it’s a system that, when taught with care and intention, can restore, energise and empower.
MEET THE FOUNDER
With over 26 years in the fitness and movement industry, Renee has spent much of her career helping women feel stronger, more confident and more connected to their bodies.
Her own journey with movement, injury and change shaped the way she wanted Parkside Pilates to feel. She had experienced firsthand the difference that the right kind of movement can make, and wanted to share the magic of Pilates when it is taught with knowledge, intention and genuine care.
For Renee, Pilates has never been simply about exercise. It is about helping people understand and trust their bodies, discover what they are capable of and, particularly for women, feel empowered by becoming stronger.
As a Polestar Pilates Diploma qualified instructor, Renee combines more than two decades of movement experience with a thoughtful, personalised approach. Now in her 50s herself, she is particularly passionate about supporting women through perimenopause, menopause and beyond, with a greater focus on strength, muscle, bone health and moving well for life.
What began as a small home studio in Renee’s garage in Earlwood has grown into the Parkside you see today. The name Parkside Pilates was inspired by the park directly across the road from her home and the leafy outlook from that very first garage studio. It’s a name that has stayed with Parkside as it has grown, a reminder of where it all began.
Today, Parkside is an intimate Pilates and wellness studio built around personal attention, purposeful movement and genuine connection.
Renee never set out to create the biggest studio. She wanted to create a space where every person is valued, seen and supported. A place where you are known by name, where movement is adapted to the person in front of us, and where becoming stronger is about so much more than what your body looks like.
That vision continues to shape everything Parkside is today: helping people move better, feel stronger and experience just how powerful Pilates can be when it’s done right.
